The IPL 2021 season starts on 09 April 2021. Earlier, 10 employees of Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium have been found positive with the corona virus.
The BCCI is expecting the IPL 2021 matches to be held between 10 April 2021 and 25 April 2021, despite 10 employees of the Wankhede Stadium and six members associated with the management of the competition being found positive by the deadly corona virus.
In Mumbai, cases of covid 19 are increasing rapidly. If the corona virus situation goes out of control, then Indore and Hyderabad can host 10 IPL matches in Mumbai.
On talking to a senior BCCI official, he said that the BCCI board is worried about this situation. The board official said, “If the lockdown is caused by the corona virus in Mumbai, the teams are in a bio-safe environment and spectators are not allowed to come to the stadium anyway.” So we still hope to organize IPL matches in Mumbai.
