An Earthquake Of Magnitude 6.1 In Afghanistan Has Killed At Least 250 People


Afghanistan Earthquake: About 250 people have been reported dead due to the strong tremors of the earthquake that hit Afghanistan on Wednesday. According to Reuters, disaster management officials said that one hundred and thirty people have lost their lives due to the earthquake of 6.1 magnitude in the eastern part of the country.

The BBC quoted local officials as saying that the death toll could be more than two hundred and fifty, while more than one hundred and fifty people were injured. The earthquake occurred about 44 kilometers (27 miles) from the south-eastern city of Khost. Reuters quoted the European Mediterranean Seismological Center as saying that the tremors were felt up to 500 kilometers away in Pakistan, as far as Pakistan and India.
