Rambai, 105 years old, was the only participant in this race held in Vadodara on Sunday, as there was no participant above the age of 85. So she ran alone in Vadodara. Seeing his passion at this age, people encouraged him a lot. Born on January 1, 1917, Rambai set the record by completing 100 meters in 45.40 seconds. Earlier this record was in the name of Mankaur who completed the race in 74 seconds. She became famous for winning the gold medal at this age as soon as she completed the race, leaving Mankaur behind. Only after this there was a crowd of people taking selfies and photos with him.

When asked why she did not participate in the race in her youth, she said that I was ready, but I did not get any chance. After winning the race she said that it is a great feeling and I want to run again. The flight of this flying angel of the race has not stopped only, his next target is to participate in international tournaments. For this, we are planning to make a passport.

Mantra of Victory Churma-Curd

Rambai laughed after winning the race and said, “I eat churma, curd and milk and that is my mantra for victory.” According to his granddaughter Sharmila, his maternal grandmother is a pure vegetarian and eats about 250 grams of ghee and 500 grams of curd daily. Apart from this, she drinks 500 ml pure milk twice a day. He likes millet roti.

Nani’s granddaughter is also happy

Nani’s granddaughter Sharmila Sangwan has also won a medal in Vadodara and she is proud of her grandmother’s achievement. She told that she had brought Nani to Delhi on June 13 after RT-PCR test before reaching Vadodara, now we are returning home. She told that she would go to drop her grandmother to the village of Charkhi Dadri, about 150 km from Delhi.

Sharmila says that her entire family is into sports. Some of his family members serving in the army have participated in many national level competitions including Masters Athletic Meet. He told that Nani had participated for the first time in a running competition in Varanasi last November. After this, participated in the competitions of Maharashtra, Karnataka, Kerala. Sharmila says that her grandmother has won more than a dozen medals.
