All state governments are providing pension to widows to make them self-reliant and empowered. This pension is given to the states to those women, who have no earner after the death of their spouse. 1800 rupees monthly in Haryana
According to the official website of the Haryana government, the state government gives a monthly pension of Rs 1,800 to destitute or divorced women and widows of 18 years of age and above. This scheme can be availed through E Disha Center, Atal Seva Kendra.

2500 rupees pension in delhi
The Delhi government gives a pension of Rs 2,500 every month to all the widowed or divorced women of the state. To take advantage of Widow Pension Scheme, the age of women should be more than 18 and less than 59. Its benefit is available to the women of the same family, whose total annual income is less than 1 lakh rupees.

600 rupees a month in Madhya Pradesh
After the death of the husband, the economic condition of many women becomes weak. Keeping this in mind, the Madhya Pradesh government is running the Indira Gandhi National Widow Pension Scheme. Under this, widows are given a pension of Rs 600 per month.

500 rupees monthly in Uttar Pradesh
The Uttar Pradesh government gives a pension of Rs 500 per month to the widows of the state. For this, the age of the widow should be 18 to 60 years. Also, there is a condition for this that the widow is not taking advantage of any other scheme of the central or state government. The annual income of his or her family should be less than Rs.2 lakh. By the way, let us tell you that the Government of India has also implemented many schemes and programs for the welfare, rehabilitation, empowerment, education and employment of widows.

When did it start?
• The Loomba Foundation, an Indian-origin group protecting women’s rights, organized the first International Widow Day in 2005 to raise awareness about widows.
• The United Nations General Assembly passed a resolution in 2011 declaring 23 June as International Widow Day. Its mission is to raise awareness about the specific assistance needed for widows.
• Due to the recognition of the United Nations, people have become more aware about this day and this day is being celebrated widely all over the world.
