Mahindra XUV700 wins ‘Safer Choice’ award, becomes safest car

New Delhi. Mahindra today bagged the Global NCAP ‘Safer Choice’ award for the XUV700. This is the second award for the Mahindra Group, the first being awarded to the XUV300 in early 2020. Global NCAP states that this award is awarded only to vehicle manufacturers achieving a high level of safety performance.

Global NCAP i.e. Global New Car Assessment Program is an organization that examines the safety of cars. It gives safety ratings to cars by crash testing them on several parameters.

This car is quite safe for the passenger
Mahindra XUV700 managed to achieve a 5-star rating for adult occupant protection and 4-star for child occupant protection in Global NCAP’s #SaferCarsForIndia crash test last year. It scored 16.03 out of a total of 17 for the safety of adult passengers, securing a 5-star safety rating in this category.

This SUV is quite safe even for children
It scored 41.66 out of total 49 marks for child occupant protection. The SUV received a 4-star rating in this category. The bodyshell of the new XUV700 has been found to be stable and was able to withstand the forward loads. Moreover, it is currently the safest Made-in-India car to be crash-tested by Global NCAP.

This car got only 3 stars
On the other hand, the 7-seater car launched by Korean carmaker Kia at the beginning of the year has suffered a major setback in terms of safety. It has got only 3-star rating in Global NCAP crash test. This model has got 3-stars in terms of safety for both adult and child passengers. The Kia Carens is a made in India car. In which all the basic safety features are available. This includes electronic stability control and a total of six airbags including two front airbags, two side-body airbags and two side head protection airbags.
