Pakistan Released 20 Indian Fishermen: Pakistan on Monday said that it has repatriated 20 Indian fishermen after completing their jail term. The High Commission of Pakistan in India said that Indians have been sent back through the Wagah-Attari border transit point. He said on Twitter, “Pakistan has released 20 Indian prisoners (fishermen) who have completed their sentences and sent them back to their country. They were sent back today from the Wagah/Attari border.”
The High Commission said that the issue of prisoners is of human nature and Pakistan hopes that the Indian side will also display the same spirit. For the last 4 years, these fishermen were lodged in the jail of Pakistan. All these fishermen are residents of Gujarat. A judicial trial was conducted on these fishermen in Pakistan and they were sentenced to 4 years in Pakistan. When the media talked to a fisherman, he said, “We are coming back after 4 years. The Indian people who are trapped in Pakistan should also be released. There is a problem with food. If he did not come in time, his dead body might have come to India.”
After the end of the sentence, Pakistan sent home

Showing humanity on the release of Pakistan fishermen, on Sunday, 20 Indian fishermen were sent to India after completing their sentence. These fishermen were imprisoned in a jail in Karachi for the last 4 years.
In January also, Pakistan had released 20 Indian fishermen.
Let us tell you that earlier in the month of January also, Pakistan handed over 20 Indian fishermen to India through Wagah Border on Monday. These fishermen were lodged in the Landhi Jail of Karachi, Pakistan. These fishermen were released from the district jail and correctional home in Malir and handed over to the BSF after completing all the legal formalities. These fishermen were also arrested for illegally entering Pakistani waters and fishing without permission.
