Russia Annoyed By The Sanctions, Warned The West Said Will Get A Befitting Reply | Ukraine-Russia War: Russia flared up on sanctions, warned the West, said

Ukraine-Russia War: Amid the ongoing war with Ukraine, Russia warned the West on Wednesday that it was working on a comprehensive response to sanctions that would be felt increasingly in the West’s most vulnerable regions.

Russia’s economy is facing its most severe crisis since the fall of the Soviet Union in 1991, when the West imposed severe sanctions on almost the entire Russian financial and corporate system following Moscow’s invasion of Ukraine.

“Russia’s response will be swift, thoughtful and sensitive,” Dmitry Birichevsky, director of the Department of Economic Cooperation at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, was quoted as saying by RIA news agency.

US imposes sanctions on import of Russian oil
US President Joe Biden on Tuesday imposed immediate sanctions on Russian oil and other energy imports in protest of Moscow’s attack on Ukraine. Russia warned earlier this week that oil prices could exceed $300 a barrel if the United States and the European Union imposed sanctions on imports of crude from Russia.

Russia says that Europe consumes about 500 million tons of oil every year. Russia supplies about 30% of that, or 150 million tons, as well as 80 million tons of petrochemicals.

The fierce battle continues for 14 days
Meanwhile, today is the 14th day of the war between Russia and Ukraine. Russian President Vladimir Putin says a “special military operation” is necessary to ensure Russian security as the United States has extended the NATO military alliance to Russia’s borders and supported pro-Western leaders in Kyiv. Ukraine says it is fighting for its existence.

The United States and its European and Asian allies have condemned the Russian invasion.
