Stock Market Opening: IT and auto stocks gave strength to the market, Sensex rose 325 points, Nifty crossed 15,500


New Delhi. The Indian stock market has started moving in the opposite direction from the global market these days. Today, when there was pressure in the global market, Indian investors gave momentum to the market by buying from the beginning. The Sensex is seeing a jump of more than 300 points due to the strong performance of IT and Auto stocks.

In the morning, the Sensex started trading openly at 51,973 with a gain of 150 points, while the Nifty opened at 15,452 with a gain of 39 points and started trading. After this, the confidence of investors increased further, they also intensified buying in the market. By 9.26 am, the Sensex started trading at 52,147 with a gain of 325 points and the Nifty also climbed 100 points to 15,513.

These stocks showed gains
Investors bet on the shares of Airtel, Wipro, Maruti, ICICI Bank, Ultratech Cement, Asian Paints, TCS, M&M, Dr Reddy’s, Hero MotoCorp, Bajaj Auto, and Divis Labs from the beginning today. These stocks have been included in the list of top gainers due to frequent buying.

On the other hand, shares like Apollo Hospitals, ONGC, Titan Company, Power Grid Corporation, SBI Life Insurance, Reliance, HDFC twins, Kotak Bank saw selling from the beginning and these stocks became top losers. In today’s trading BSE Midcap and Smallcap are also witnessing an increase of 0.4 percent.

How did the market fare sector-wise?
If we look at the sector wise performance in today’s business, IT and Auto have led the market. Today, there is a growth of 1 percent in both the sectors. Banks and real estate sector remained sluggish today while oil and gas sector is showing a decline. Shares of Glenmark Pharma fell 4 percent in the beginning today. At the same time, Bajaj Auto made a tremendous gain of 3 percent.

Mixed performance of Asian markets
A mixed trend is seen in the markets of Asia on Thursday morning. Some markets are trading on a boom and some are seeing a decline. The Singapore Stock Exchange is seeing a gain of 0.40 percent in this morning’s trading, while Japan’s Nikkei is trading at a gain of 0.36 percent. South Korea’s Cospi is also up 0.31 percent. But, Hong Kong’s stock market is down 2.56 percent and Taiwan’s stock exchange is showing a decline of 2.42 percent. Similarly, China’s Shanghai Composite was also seen trading at a loss of 0.03 percent.
